1st Degree Reiki

This is an intensive two-day course which includes:

Attunement to 1st Degree

Under the Usui Tradition this involves four attunements. An attunement is a process carried out by the Reiki Master/Teacher which passes on the ability to channel Reiki energy. The actual process is explained during the course.

Reiki Hand Positions

Standard hand positions for giving a Reiki treatment are offered as a basis from which to work.

Giving a Complete Reiki Treatment

Applying the theory covered in a practical way. All course memebers will have the opportunity both to give and receive a Reiki treatment.

Self Treatment

Recognising the need for self-healing is a major aspect of 1st Degree. The standard hand positions for this are covered as well as an opportunity for practice.

History and Current Developments

Knowing the background to Reiki and developments over the last few years has relevance to an undersanding of, and to applying Reiki.

Ethics

There are some fundamental ethics involved when working with Reiki energy. These are introduced, explored and discussed.

How does Reiki work?

Various theories and hypotheses are discussed on how Reiki energy functions. There is now a much greater level of scientific support for how we function at an energetic level and the topic of energy is explored in some detail. INcluded within this area soem basic precepts on the factors that influence health and well-being are also discussed.

Lunch and Refreshments

Lunch (primarily vegetarian) and refreshments are included in courses run at Hempstead. Non dairy and non gluten/wheat options are always available.

COURSE TIMES AND NUMBERS

Courses are run on weekdays (either Weds/Thurs or Thurs/Fri) between 9.30 a.m. and 4.30/5,00 p.m.) The course takes place at Hempstead in a dedicated studio loacted at my house. This large peaceful room comfortably accommodates the maximum of five course members.

DIRECTIONS

Hempstead is a village a few miles from the town of Saffron Walden on the Essex/Cambs/Herts border and is easily reached via the M11. It is suggested that you use a route finder site to plan your trip if the area is new to you. Anvil Rise is located in the middle of the village and is two houses to the left of The Bluebell Pub (as you face the pub), opposite the village bus shelter/village sing. It is a pink modern house and there should be sufficent parking on the driveway. As an overflow you can also park in front of the pub.

PRACTICE

While practice takes place during the course you will need to set aside some additional time to practise self-treatmetns after the course is over.

WORKSHOPs

Each year a number of one day Reiki workshops are held for people who have already completed some Reiki training. These provide an opportunity to spend time with other Reiki people, share treatments and to be boosted by a re-attunement.

OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATION

Several Bed & Breakfast houses are within easy reach, also hotels at Thaxted and Saffron Walden should this be required. www.informaiton-britain.co.uk is a site which you can search for more information.

WHAT TO WEAR

Comfortable clothes are best and you may wish to bring some indoor shoe/slippers. If you like the country side there is an opportunity for a short walk at lunchtime - so suitable shoes or wellies depending on the time of year are also a good idea.
